I was keenly aware of My need, don’t you see? And this is the secret, to truly be free. So come apart and rest awhile, I miss your laughter and your smile. Dan Forrest appears to be a fan of (earlier) Bruce Hornsby. There’s quite a bit of improvisational territory to explore in that vein (or lane) where occasional dissonance meets lush jazz chord voicings. Gorgeous arrangement, would love to catch other Forrest performances, will now be looking for them on UA-cam, Spotify, etc. Thanks for setting these wheels in motion, and a hat tip to my fellow Covenant College alum and music instructor Steve Lawton for pointing me in your direction.

Our small ward choir is singing this beautiful arrangement this Christmas with piano and one violin. Every time I listen to this performance the splendor of the event combined with the mastery of Dan Forrest makes me weep with reverence and joy and my heart swells, I think, to twice it's normal size. I'm so grateful this much beauty is here on the earth.
